The inaugural UK RAS STEPS Technical Showcase successfully took place on Wednesday, 18th June 2025, at the Science Museum, London. We were delighted to welcome attendees in person and are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making the event such a success.

The event shone a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) in the field of Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS). It offered valuable opportunities for professional development, skill-building, and cross-sector collaboration.

The packed agenda featured inspiring presentations on technical excellence, an engaging panel discussion on career pathways, and hands-on workshops where participants contributed ideas to shape the future of the robotics sector. Attendees had plenty of chances to connect with engineers, technicians, academics, and industry leaders from across the UK.

As part of the day, we were proud to celebrate technical excellence through our awards programme, recognising outstanding members of the community in the following categories:

• Outstanding Robotics Engineering – Recognising leadership in the design, development, or implementation of robotic systems.
• Innovative Teamwork in Robotics – Celebrating successful collaboration across teams, industries, or organisations.
• Transformative Robotics Impact – Acknowledging significant positive outcomes from a robotics project, product, or initiative.

Although this event has concluded, the UK RAS STEPS network continues to offer a range of training opportunities, events, and showcases aimed at supporting the vital work of Research Technical Professionals in robotics.
