About the Visit

This short, intensive visit will coincide with Automation World 2027, offering participants first-hand exposure to cutting-edge industrial technologies alongside curated visits to leading research institutes and robotics companies.

The programme will combine lab tours, industry engagement, and networking opportunities with some of South Korea’s most influential robotics organisations.

Planned Visits and Engagements

Participants can expect to visit and engage with the following institutions (subject to confirmation):

Automation World Seoul is South Korea’s leading industrial automation exhibition, bringing together cutting‑edge technologies in smart manufacturing, robotics, AI, and industrial digitalisation.

A global leader in robotic hardware and platforms, known for its widely used modular robotics systems and humanoid technologies. Gain insight into product development, education platforms, and real-world robotics applications.

One of Korea’s top universities, renowned for pioneering research across robotics, AI, and intelligent systems. The visit will explore academic-industry collaboration and emerging research areas.

A world-leading research university at the forefront of robotics, AI, and engineering. Engage with cutting-edge labs and explore Korea’s innovation ecosystem.

How to Take Part

We’re accepting expressions of interest from up to 30 RTPs. Applicants must be a Robotics and Autonomous Systems-focussed Research Technical Professional working within a UK university. This opportunity is NOT available to academics, researchers, students, post-docs or those working in industry. A peer-reviewed voting process will take place to select the final 10 attendees. Please note: RTPs may only join one international visit, subject to demand. Please see the International Visits Guidelines.

📧 To express interest in a visit, please complete this short form with your details and expression of interest statement of no more than 200 words explaining why the visit would be beneficial to your career and how your area of expertise is relevant. The closing date for EOIs is midday on Wednesday 9th September. We will then create a form for RTPs to vote for the 10 who should be chosen for the visit (please note you cannot vote for yourself!).
