UK RAS STEPS hopes to enhance the real-world experience of Research Technical Professionals and facilitate knowledge transfer by supporting them to undertake secondments at leading labs and facilities across the UK.
Participating in a secondment can bring new collaboration opportunities, help you to develop new relationships and share innovative ideas and best practice.
Apply for a secondment opportunity
We’re excited to offer short-term placements and longer-term secondments to research technical professionals who work with robotics and autonomous systems.
Duration: From one day to one month, or longer if there’s a strong rationale.
Funding: We will cover costs for travel, accommodation, subsistence, and other associated expenses.
Expertise: Placements and secondments are available in a range of cutting-edge areas in robotics and autonomous systems.

Offer a secondment opportunity
We also invite departments within our network to host visiting technicians. Whether it’s a short-term visit or a longer-term secondment, we can help arrange all logistics. All we ask is that you have someone from your team available to support the visiting technician and facilitate knowledge exchange.
