2026 Summer Workshop in Surgical, Assistive & Interventional Engineering
Applications are open for the 2026 Summer Workshop in Surgical, Assistive, and Interventional Engineering, hosted by King’s College London.
The five‑day, in‑person programme from June 15th-19th welcomes postgraduate students, NHS professionals, academic researchers, and technical professionals, offering a unique opportunity to deepen expertise in one of healthcare’s fastest-evolving fields. University-based professionals qualify for academic-rate fees.
UK RAS STEPS can fund attendance, including travel, accommodation and subsistence for interested RTPs working in RAS. Please apply for our Conference & Training Funding Scheme.
Bringing together cutting-edge engineering and medical innovation, the workshop will provide hands‑on training, interactive sessions, and live lectures led by internationally recognised experts in surgical technologies and healthcare robotics.

Location
Teaching and hands‑on activities will take place at:
- Surgical & Interventional Engineering Laboratories, St Thomas’ Hospital
- London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), King’s College London
These state‑of‑the‑art facilities offer an unparalleled environment for immersive learning.
Fees include full workshop access, coffee and lunch breaks, and a welcome event. Travel and accommodation are not included.

- A ~250‑word personal statement describing suitability and goals
- A CV

- Notifications of acceptance: 15 April 2026
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all places are filled. Payment is due within two weeks of acceptance. UK RAS STEPS can reimburse your respective institution, only if you have completed the Conference & Training Fund application.
